The International Society of Safety Professionals (ISSP) was formed to promote and advance the professions of safety management, provide safety management education opportunities, and to create a public registry of qualified safety professionals in various disciplines.

The ISSP portal was designed to provide a gateway for understanding the benefits in joining the International Society of Safety Professionals (ISSP) and to provide a one stop location (portal) for both managing education opportunities and maintaining certifications. The portal is used by ISSP members throughout the world and is a dominant safety portal used in the safety industry.

Finally, the ISSP portal permits the preparation for and the taking of certification exams for a member becoming a Certified International Safety Manager - CISM®. This is a professional certification that represents awardees recognized as following industry best practices and is backed by the standards, verification, and testing provided by the ISSP.
